Blur’s mix of strategy-based power-ups, load-out menus, and largely varied challenges really make this game a must for all automotive fans. In a genre this oversaturated, it is good to know that there is still some innovation left.
Creating such beautiful chaos isn’t easy, especially in a racing game, but forming some kind of order out of it is even harder. In marrying the simulation sensibilities of a hard-core driving game with the ferocious combat of a kart-racer, Bizarre has done both. And in doing so, brought us the most exciting new racer in years.

Powered up racing at its finest . . . . . . .
Let’s be frank, single player in Blur, while “ok” is not really what the game is all about. Blur is about taking out the guy in front of you in multiplayer while protecting your rear from somebody with the same goal.
Blur is very much a straight forward welding of the kiddie Mario Kart style racers with adult-friendly realism. The result is something that is far beyond expectation. The action is fast, unrelenting and ‘on-the-edge-of-your-seat’.
Blur is an enjoyable Mario Kart inspired racer with a more realistic driving model and a balanced and surprisingly deep weapons system. There is lots of fun to be had here.
Handling, progress and rewards are as mature as you would anticipate from a developer that now has six similar arcade racers under its belt.
Quotation forthcoming.

The finest arcade racer ever made. Blur is ten levels above any Mario Kart. In a perfect world it would have sold more than any Mario Kart too. The AI is extremely well-balanced and refined. It doesn’t frustrate like Mario Kart. The game rewards good driving and good strategy and is a blast to play with friends or solo. Up to 4-player splitscreen just adds to the fun offline. As you progress the game is plenty challenging too. Like the developers (Bizarre Creations) said in interviews, they wanted to put the fun back into racing. They totally achieved their goal. Unfortunately they chose to embed State-endorsed social networking spyware features in the game, which is my only real complaint. I guess some people within the company decided that it would be a great way for people to get word out about the game on these filthy social networks. I detest them and I wish the code wasn’t embedded in the game (even if I don’t use the features). Oh well. Anyway, that might be a minor point. Blur’s art style is fantastic. The Power-Ups really contrast with the environments and the lights glow in their characteristic glow. The particle effects add to the chaos. The sound design is masterful: every power-up sound, car sound and surface noise is sonically perfect. Even the music feels like part of the game rather than ‘bolted-on’ and annoying, like we see with so many other games. Blur was released in May 2010. This review is written in April 2017, so it has been almost 7 years since the game was released. Despite the time that has passed, I have yet to see any racing game that comes close to the feeling I get from Blur, and I doubt I ever will. This is Bizarre Creations’ finest work. A very accessible and fun racer that goes above-and-beyond anything they have produced in the past. An absolute masterpiece.

Best game of all time: Never have I spent so much time on one game. This honestly changed my life. I love this game. So lets get into it. Blur is like Mario Kart on steroids, with a great element of strategy and a higher skill cap. In the online (which is the main mode you play it for) you have access to an indepth mod system (similar to that of call of duty) Where you select perks which help you to succeed in whatever you want to achieve for example if you are in it to win it, you use shield efficiency – for helping you against lightning, super drift – for helping you drift and maintain first and bribe to get an early powerup to help break into the lead, or you could use motormash mods if you are one of those players who prefers a fight rather than a win. I love the modes – you have a mode for team racing in which you can do a 10v10, perfect for clan racing. You have powered up racing which is your standard 20 player online racing and then you have motormash among many other miscellaneous modes. The XP system is rewarding, the game makes you feel like a winner with a podium screen for the top 3. I just love the whole interface of the game. The online community is very tightly knit and dedicated – there are still players on all 3 communities today. Overall blur is without a doubt best game I’ve ever played and that won’t be changing anytime soon!

Blur is a fun game, which unfortunately has not gained the attention it probably deserves. There is plenty of race tracks, game modes for multiplayer and there’s more to each race than just coming 1st; you can gain fans by completing challenges throughout the race, such as driving through golden gates in order and completing fan demands, such as getting a clean boost. It appears to be very balanced, unlike Mario Kart, from which it draws inevitable comparisons with the items you can collect, the items are not randomised, so if you’re low in the ranks, getting a boost or shunt is far better than getting a mine. I’ve played split-screen and the races are usually very tight, even with easy computer opponents. There’s plenty to do, alone or online, and there’s a good range of real cars with different handling. The graphics are not stunning, but the speed and effects on each course make up for this. Overall, Blur is a solid, fun racer and I can definitely recommend it. 3/5.

Equivalent to COD Ghosts is for COD series, for racing genre, Blur it’s a game that sins as fun, being absolutely boring, as creativity, taking the most obvious references and being at maximum common. A failed mixing of Mario Kart tricks with Need for Speed, In other words, with good influences should be released at least a decent game, that isn’t Blur’s Case. As a gift, a playability that can infuriate most inpatient players, looking that you are controlling a rock in a speedway full of oil.

Summary Blur is a new style of powered-up racing. The game drops players into heart-pumping racing action with 20 cars on a track all targeting the finish line and battling each other as they trade paint and collect intense power-ups, including the ability to blast other cars out of the way with huge bursts of energy, boost their speed, and more .
